"We shall not flag nor fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight on the seas and oceans; we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island whatever the cost may be; we shall fight on the beaches; landing grounds, in fields in streets and on the hills. "

Likewise given the opportunity "We the leaders and the members of the JVP and the true patriots of this country shall join the Glorious men and women in the three forces and the police who are fighting the separatist terrorists to safeguard the sovereignty of this country, the territorial integrity of this country, Independence and Democracy of this country. We shall defeat the separatist terrorists in the seas; we shall defeat them in the air, on beaches, on landing grounds, in the fields, in the streets and on the hills and also I emphasise at the negotiating table."


JVP proposals presented to the President made public From the political bureau of JVP (07 August 2006)

JVP’s proposals based on three objectives which were presented at the discussions with the President and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party were made known to the public this morning (06). The draft document comprises of 20 proposals.

These proposals were announced by the JVP leader Comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe at a media conference at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute attended by the Political Bureau of the JVP.

The JVP leader said that they have made these proposals based on 3 key factors. They are to overcome the challenges faced by the country with regard to its sovereignty and independence, economic development and to endow with democratic rights within the country defeating terrorism.
