Three November Days
I was truly struck by something in this great article.

The writer's mother, who had been vehemently opposed to Kennedy's election, wept at his death.

There was a time in this country when country came before the cult of personality. There was a time in this country when the assassination of our nation's leader was a stab in the heart to everyone because he was our nation's leader and it had nothing to do with who that leader was.

Where did that go? Can we ever get that back?

1. I think the fundamentalists cheered at his death
since he was a Catholic with anti-war views.

I don't think this will ever change- the fundamentalist hate. Until this faction loses all power, we won't have unity.
