Dean: 'We're About to Enter the '60s Again'
By Randy Hall
CNSNews.com Staff Writer/Editor
June 28, 2006

(CNSNews.com) - America is about to revisit one of the most turbulent decades in its history, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean told a religious conference in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday. "We're about to enter the '60s again," Dean said, but he was not referring to the Vietnam War or racial tensions.

Dean said he is looking for "the age of enlightenment led by religious figures who want to greet Americans with a moral, uplifting vision."

"The problem is when we hit that '60s spot again, which I am optimistic we're about to hit, we have to make sure that we don't make the same mistakes," Dean added. See Video

3. Why is everyone looking to religious figures
to be out great leaders? I think that's a mistake in and of itself. Some great leaders may be religious, but I don't consider it a prerequisite. Surely there could be secular leaders with "moral, uplifting vision," too.

9. It's a political doppler effect known as the RED shift...
As wacko extremist right ravings created a vortex in the universe as we have known it, they have also generated false echoes which opportunists and populists claim to be real. In this confusion the left seems to be in the middle and the middle seems to be to the right, and the right, well the right has moved so far it is unclear whether or not it has jumped "branes."

14. I was thinking maybe you could tell me. I remember hearing
about Christian organisations being involved. The only group I did hear of who weren't church-affiliated, as far as I know, were the wonderful people trying to find and look after the household pets. But, no humanist or otherwise atheist organisation that I can recall.
