O'SHOCKER: O'Reilly calls for Bush to step down
Lords of Loud 5/28) In a shocking turn of events, on his radio show this past week, talk show host Bill O'Reilly demanded President Bush's resignation. Sure it's hard to believe, but taking on demagogues as well as entire countries, O'Reilly has never been one to pull his punches, so President Bush had better take Bill's words seriously.

Here's how it went down. While pleading his case against a school newspaper on the University of Oregon campus, O'Reilly derided UO Dean, Dave Frohnmayer, for not taking steps to close down the newspaper. That the school has no editorial control over what the paper publishes nor legal ability to close it, Bill knows that a President needn't adhere to law to do what needs to be done.

<snip>

What irked Bill more than anything was that Frohnmayer did not condemn and shut down the newspaper. Forget the law. Forget the trial. Just trow da bums out! If you're not willing to do so, then it's you who must go. Alright?

Next came the coup de grace. Using the opportunity to make a political point that surely threw the White House and the entire Republican Party for a loop, O'Reilly said that a President should be held to the same scrutiny - if you don't deal with insurrections immediately, you must step down.* Do you hear that, Mr. Bush? That's what Bill's talking about.

I hate Bill O'Reilly. It's not a 'hard' hate though. He's just an annoying a-hole, like a crank on the next bar stool who knows everything about everything. You just get up & move or leave.
How he's turned his meager little act into a career baffles me.
Anyway, I thought this was a funny piece...
Bill's rating are down I've heard. It's about time...what a nut!

1. He's the gift that keeps on giving, IMO!!!
He's always giving Monsieur Col-BEAR new material. And he's such a falafel!!! I can't bear to watch him, but no need--Monsieur Col-BEAR does it, so we get the essence, with an artful political flip, and without the annoyance!

2. What is his definition of insurrection? Democrats and anybody else that
disagrees with him.

Olberman and Al Franken give him "publicity" all the time. They might call it criticizing but it is publicity for him. I wish they would shut up about him.

3. Hey Bill, given that you've been a non-stop defender of Bush
and his illegal activities for over five years now, how about you step down as well so we don't have to listen to your bleating mouth anymore?

This is how the world ends (and I mean that metaphorically) for the Bush people. All those who championed them are going to turn their backs on them and not take any responsibility for what they've done.

5. Bwahahaha
Gosh, when the Commentator printed the Muslim cartoons, it was free speech. Now that it's cartoons about Christ, it's a whooole other ballgame.

Whiny babies.

And I haven't seen the cartoons, so I can't comment on them.

7. it's all about selling soap,and it always has been;
Bill is Rupert's lap dog and Rupert is all about money, not politics. If Bush doesn't sell, he will find what does. There is no surprise here!

8. If that's what it takes for him to look superior, so be it.
Besides, if he ever does step down, O'Reilly will claim credit and use it as proof that he's fair, blah blah blah.

10. He is just a guyu of average or below average IQ
who doesn't realize just how stupid he is. He fancies that he is in the game with most of the other people who get a media mouthpiece, and he isn't.

11. Bush = scapegoat

It's simple: Bush & Cheney are gone after this tour in office. So why not hang every bad thing you can on these guys and distance yourselves like crazy from them to try and save your head at the next election? O'Really is just doing his part to help the Republican-party as a whole, just like always.
