Charlie Reese: Osama Doesn't Like Us
http://reese.king-online.com/Reese_20031031/index.php

I've noticed that when Osama bin Laden issues a statement, the full text is rarely reported to the American people. In the interest of knowing our enemy, I thought I'd pass along a few of his statements. As you will see, the man doesn't much care for us.

Americans should take note of what this dangerous man, truly our enemy, says. He's not angry because we are rich (he's worth about $300 million himself) or free. He's angry because of our foreign policy. And, as public polling has shown, that is exactly what the rest of the people in the Middle East are angry about.

Rather than trying to kill our way out of this conflict, maybe we should re-examine the policies that caused it.

1. Finally!
Someone has the courage to say that maybe, just maybe, US foreign policy should be examined. I hope he does not get fired.

2. Hey Osama won anyway
His focal reason for the Jihad against Americans and American interests (funny that sounds kinda' like Dubya's with or against us statement) was that the US pull all troops out of the holy land, Saudi Arabia... and guess what. The US has pulled out of Saudi Arabia. He was also pissed off when the CIA vis-a-vis the USA abondoned afghanistan after the Russian pull out. Left them to rot into the stone age.

Or does he forget that he was on the pay-roll of the reaganites?
What about his family's links to the BCCI?
He will burn together with Cheney and Wolfowitz in the same room of Hell!

5. must agree
Osama's a hypocrite---

but the larger issue is clear: this isn't about differences in culture. After all, Osama doesn't attack japan or switzerland, who also have liberal cultures--

this is about our foreign policy, our unequivocable support of Israel and all the blood spilled there. Until we face and confront and change that, there is no "victory," and absolutely no peace.

6. Not entirely correct
Bin Laden has changed his stated objectives over the years. His first cause was expelling American troops from Saudi Arabia. For all intents and purposes he won that battle. Bin Laden added the Israeli problem to his list of complaints against western civilization in late 2001 in an attempt to foster massive Muslim opposition to the war on Afghanistan.
