War on Poverty, War on Crime, War on Drugs, War on Terror -- none of them places this president or any other president above the law.
The only war that George W. Bush is winning at the moment is the War Against Americans' Civil Liberties, which his administration has been waging to muzzle anti-war protesters and intimidate critics.
George W. Bush has determined that terrorists hate us because of our freedoms and so has decided to eliminate our freedoms so the terrorists don't hate us anymore. To support his plan to win that war, Bush the strict constructionist employed a bunch of sycophant lawyers who have creatively mined the Constitution to discover "The Divine Right of Presidents." This doctrine says that any president named Bush can do whatever he likes and it is legal. It's more of a threat to our freedoms than anything Bush can conjure up from insurgents that his trumped-up War in Iraq has produced.
