"Newsweek suggests Armitage was Woodward's source" (Laura Rozen)
Newsweek suggests Armitage was Woodward's source, and that he may have been Novak's second source as well. It's my best guess as well.

2. Wasn't Armitage the first Senator to propose the closing of military
Edited on Mon Nov-21-05 07:46 AM by The Backlash Cometh
bases? Back in the eighties? I always thought it was odd how they pinned the downsizing of the military on Clinton, when it was really the Republicans who began the process. But, that was before I understood that the right-wing had overtaken our media.

4. Imagine being remembered as the man who spawned the idea to
use dope to mollify resistance.

5. I think this is a damage control operation...
Armitage is an evil fuck - that i already knew, even though he was a critic of this war - turns out a lot of evil fucks on both sides of the Iraq war debate.

don't let the so called "iraq critics" become the heroes of the anti-war movement because their hands are dirty and they are provenly complicit because of their own 9/11 agenda. Even Democratic Senator Graham of Florida, an outspoken critic of the Iraq war had questionable connections to 9/11 and Mohammad Atta. A number of Iraq war leadership critics do.

This story on Armitage is to give Woodward cover, but it is also to take attention away from the Niger Forgeries - and a number of other sleazy machinations involved in the international espionage intrigues involved in the lead up to invasion/occupation in Iraq
- all these people are somehow invested in some aspect of it - some were bilking the food for oil schemes (and the invasion busted that up)some are actually financially invested in oil interests and pipelines in neighboring regions. (Madeline Albright) None of these of these people can be trusted. Woodward, like Miller and other "journalists" play the role of stenographer or put more aptly as their propaganda messenger tool.

This very minute Cheney is on C-Span speaking from the American Enterprise Institute (Neo-Con think tank headquarters AEI) spinning, lying and smearing.

I think Cheney is emboldened by what appears to be roads leading away from him and his office in the Leak-Gate affair.

I'm beginning to fear that John W. Dean's concerns and salient points which he articulates in his Open Letter to Fitzgerald may be more prescient than previously thought.

I really hope I'm wrong.
