Letter to my senators
Dear Senator Cantwell:

I have just witnessed unbelievable images from the New Orleans Convention Center. People are literally dropping dead. No food, no water, no official presence at all. A CNN reporter on the scene says there are "many, many bodies inside and outside the convention center."

This catastrophe is directly attributable to Bush policies. It has been well documented by the Times-Picayune that Bush starved the levee construction effort to redirect money toward his illegal invasion of Iraq.

Furthermore, the FEMA response has been woefully inadequate; tens of thousands of Americans in New Orleans alone are at risk of imminent death by exposure, dehydration, starvation, and disease. Now comes the unwelcome report that FEMA has suspended rescue operations due to security fears.

No amount of spin from spokesmen and Bush himself can conceal the scale of malfeasance in this catastrophe. It is abundantly clear that Bush policies have been uniformly disastrous for the United States and the world.

Therefore, I urgently request that these steps be undertaken:

1. Immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, to support reconstruction efforts in the Gulf Coast;
2. Immediate reversal of tax cuts for the wealthiest citizens to offset the enormous cost of recovery;
3. Immediate drafting of articles of impeachment against Bush and his entire cabinet.

Sincerely,

Barrett808

1. Excellent letter
It's a shame that it will have minimal impact. Hopefully, I'm wrong about that.

Maria Cantwell isn't one given to rocking the boat. But we can always hope something like this will help one or more Democrats in public office to take some long-delayed action.

2. I sent a short note to Tom Lantos CA-12 yesterday
It only asked him to start impeachment proceedings.

He hasn't replied yet.

I would like to see 2 millions letters to congress and senators demanding impeachment. It's the 2nd thing you should after sending a contribution to a relief agency.

I'll send emails to DiFi and Boxer today.
