> 06/17/05 "PWW" - - The “Downing Street Memo” could be the last straw, or the spark that lights a fire, for an American public fed up with the Iraq war.
>
> As incriminating documents continue to be revealed showing the Bush administration lied to take the U.S. to war, and as the U.S. death toll in Iraq topped 1,700, more than half a million Americans have signed a letter initiated by Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) demanding that President Bush answer charges his administration “fixed” intelligence to sell the war. “We’re now 540,000 and counting,” Conyers said in his blog June 13.
>
> The secret memo, published May 1 by the Times of London, reports minutes of a July 23, 2002, meeting of top British officials including Prime Minister Tony Blair. According to the memo, the head of Britain’s intelligence agency, just back from meetings in Washington, reported that “the intelligence and facts were being fixed” to justify Bush’s determination to attack Iraq. ......

....Conyers told the Times of London that its role in bringing the Iraq-related documents to light “reminds me of Watergate, which started off as a tiny little incident reported in The Washington Post. I think that the interest of many citizens is picking up.”

2. it will not fade if we don't let it
the only reason it's made it this far is because there are those of us out there who refuse to let it be passed off as old, fuzzy news.

The same is true for the WTC fiasco and the stolen elections.

Keep talking about it, and it remains vital.

abracadabra: "I create as I speak." ;-)

4. That's so true...
...because, based on what we've seen so far from Cheney-Rove-Bush, ALL THEY HAVE is the hope that we will "let it fade."

That's it. Chest-thumping denials. "Freedom is on the march" slogans.

They have NOTHING, and we can't forget that.

3. You're so right, it's up to the media now
All the rest of us have done everything in our power to get the message out. No it's time for the media to pull a Woodward and Bernstein.

7. Any US Attorney Could Have Begun A Preliminary Inquiry
on this. The Trouble is that there is a perjurer as Attorney General and an FBI "Director", whose main claim to fame was that someone's brother turned him in, that don't give a damn about the law or The Constitution. Only when the heat falls on Rove, will anything happen.
Until that point, we still have Jackson, the Runaway Bride, whatever the next Cable Infotainment/California Cottage Industry Trial, and whatever the OutHouse decides is "their" message of the day.
