10. No, he was only "popular" ON ELECTION DAY
he was below 50% approval immediately before Nov 2 and immediatly after.

2. this is no indicator...
There's a 30 point floor still.

This makes it look like there is still more than a minority of Americans who disapprove of Bush**.

3. The chart suggests that his numbers have been at this low...
...for a full year now, with only a slight uptick around the November election when the Bush propaganda machine was red-lining. Also, right after the inauguration in 2001, Bush's approval ratings were not all that impressive for a new president.

It was only the 9-11 events that shoot his approvals up into the high 80's. Then he squandered them until he attacked Iraq, then down they went again until Saddam was captured. Left to his own attributes, Bush does not get a sustained majority approval by Americans.

Bush really is just a mediocre president in the eyes of most Americans.

Thanks for the chart update.

4. Interesting how certain pollsters are consistently at the top or bottom.
Gallup & ABC are consistently show him as rating highest, Zogby lowest. It would be interesting to see how these same pollsters rated Bill Clinton.

6. I guess an average of all of the polls is a better gauge, but....
...if a national poll of 12,000 to 15,000 responses randomly selected each month were taken by a completely objective and independent source that would be the best indicator.

5. Notice, how Bush is always on a downhill slide.
you can actually see the milestones in his "career" on this chart. 1st spike: 9/11. Look at the upward jump. Before that, his approval rating looks like's flatlining, steady and unremarkable.

Notice also: after 9/11, his approval rating does a steady downhill slide. The next spike would be the war in Iraq. But look: it's just a minor blip upward. Again, his popularity starts its slide down the toilet again.

Notice: there's no spike after his "election" the 2nd time around. He's going down, down, down.

These little spots look like confetti. This is what we'll be strewing around, the day BeelzeBush vanishes from our lives.

Former Assistant Treasury Secretary under Reagan and a conservative journalist, Paul Craig Roberts, has called for the impeachment and conviction of George W. Bush.
