First of all, I must express my utter disgust over some of the actions done by the Bush regime during their visit to Africa. At least one of the incidents that took place got way less publicity than it should have. The incident I am referring to took place at Goree Island, Senegal. It was at Goree Island that Bush gave a speech at a former slave house that held slaves in shackles before they were shipped overseas.

However, it is not the speech that has gotten me so angry, it is how they treated the people on the island. According to a Reuters article the residents of the island were all pushed out of their homes at 6 a.m. and forced to stay on the other side of the island in a football field until Bush was finished giving his speech and had left the island. Understandably, the natives were extremely upset. Reuters quoted one of the natives as saying "it's slavery all over again" and "it's humiliating. The island was deserted." Another resident exclaimed that they "were shut up like sheep." I don't know about you guys, but this is wholly unacceptable to me.
