Dutch soldiers to leave Iraq in March

Dutch to withdraw from Iraq in March

The 1350 Dutch troops in Iraq will be brought home as planned in March, the Defence Ministry said.

The Dutch contingent has been based in the Muthanna province, in southern Iraq, since August 2003 and parliament in June extended their stay until March 2005.

"We think that by March 2005 the security situation in al-Muthanna will be stable enough to hand over the task to Iraqi security," defence ministry spokesman Otte Beeksma said on Friday.

"This does not mean we won't have a presence in Iraq at all. We will send about 100 men to provide support and training in the Nato training mission," he said.

1. Death of Van Gogh may make this a difficult call
Liberal Holland has witnessed the death of radical filmmaker and women's rights champion at the hand of Islamic extremists. They are frightened by the possible rise of domestic terrorism and might be pulling out to keep troops on the streets back home.
Anyone been to Amsterdam? Wonderful in the spring.

3. Tell me again about this vast "Coalition of the Willing?"
I need to hear, just for my own reassurance, about the hundreds of countries that have committed troops in the multiple tens of thousands to this Just and Righteous Cause that Dear Leader has set us upon.

Thanking you in advance, I remain Your Obedient Serpent

4. If Kerry would have won the right wing radio would be blaming him
All these countries are wising up and starting to pull out. If Blair loses the election, his opponent will definitely pull out the Brits. These countries were mislead by bush and co. and they will pull out after the elections.
