Curfew declared in northern Iraqi city: local government ( Mosul)
MOSUL, Iraq (AFP) - A curfew was imposed on the flashpoint city of Mosul in northern Iraq (news - web sites), the fourth city in three days to receive such an order, the local governorate said.

"A curfew starts at 4:00 pm (1300 GMT) until further notice no one can cross bridges, those who do will be shot and killed," the Ninevah governorate said in a statement broadcast on local television and radio.

All bridges leading to the flashpoint city were also closed.

The decision came after Prime Minister Iyad Allawi declared a state of emergency across most of Iraq on Sunday and followed announcements of curfews in Fallujah and the town of Baiji, as well as a night time curfew in Baghdad.

1. The New Hell.

So, if my child has been shot in the crossfire, or just severely wounded in a car accident and I walk over the bridge carrying his bloody body to get to the doctors...they (who is they?) will shoot and kill me and my child?

Thanks America for creating this wonderful Freedom Marching New Iraq.

4. Isn't this curfew thing a big joke? All it means that the troops
can shoot Iraqis legally during certain hours.
