STOCKTON -- Cheaters walking door to door ahead of Election Day have tried illegally to collect voters' completed absentee ballots, San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters Deborah Hench said Thursday.
Hench called the Sheriff's Office late Wednesday to report the complaint of a man who said he declined solicitors' attempts to collect his ballot. The Sheriff's Office attempted to contact him but was unsuccessful, said Deputy Nelida Stone, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office.
At least one resident has surrendered a completed ballot to a solicitor, said Lexi Penn, a volunteer walking precincts urging registered Republicans to vote.
"Somebody already came and took it," Penn said a Weston Ranch resident revealed.

http://www.recordnet.com/daily/news/articles/102904-gn-1.phpI heard about this on the local radio today. Apparently, they ask your party affiliation, then ask if they can 'take care of' your absentee ballot for you.
Sigh...
