Kerry Vows Zealous U.S. Terror Hunt, Recalls Vietnam
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=6588993

PUEBLO, Colo. (Reuters) - Democratic presidential nominee and Vietnam War veteran John Kerry tried to burnish his national security credentials on Saturday by vowing to hunt down terrorists with the same energy he used to pursue the Viet Cong.

The Massachusetts senator also kept up his attack on President Bush, accusing his Republican rival of allowing Osama bin Laden to "walk out of the back door."

"This president keeps going around the country trying to scare people," Kerry told thousands of supporters at an outdoor rally in Pueblo. "He talks about only one thing. The only thing he wants to talks about is terror, the war on terror, national security."

"If that's the debate he wants to have, I'm prepared to have that debate because I can wage a better war on terror than George Bush has."

2. I disagree with Kerry's wimpy statements!
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 01:57 PM by dArKeR
Just lay the truth out there and don't listen to your Handlers! "aWol is a coward. He ran and hid from defending America. He is a coward who was drunk while soldiers like me and your children were standing and dying for America. What makes you think a coward as such could defend America? I've carried a live weapon and defended America. I took fire from an ememy. Get this arrogant lying bastard out of my face. Bush is a digrace to America."

This is the speech I'm waiting for!

I've thought for a while that Kerry's playing it safe made sense, but when I read your speech, I wonder....

It sure would be nice to hear.

3. NLF comparison?
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 02:36 PM by Aidoneus
It is not like someone in his position to, I trust unintentionally, give such credibility to those he speaks of. Taking it as it was intended, his comparison sucks and he should be faulted for it as well as for being a maintained step backwards. I realize he's saying this "because he has to", blah/blah/etc... that in itself also represents steps backwards.

5. Oh great! Didn't Kerry ever hear about My Lai?

One of America's infamous terrorist attacks on the Vietnamese. :spank:
http://free.freespeech.org/americanstateterrorism/vietnamgenocide/Mylai.html

With Kerry's support of Ariel Sharon's apartheid policies against the Palestinians and this latest statement, I can see Kerry's policies creating many My Lai's in the Arab and Muslim world.

Martin Luther King Jr was right -- My country is the greatest pruveyor of violence in the world today -- and he said that when Democrats controlled the White House and Congress.

6. Yeah, this kind of rhetoric
really saddens me. What a shame that the potential leader of the most powerful nation on earth is afraid to even mention peace as a solution for fear of being labelled a "wimp". How will we ever get away from this vicious cycle of kill, retaliate, kill, retaliate.

7. You can't have peace with everyone.
Just like you can't have a fair and free election with someone pointing a gun to your head while you vote.

Cut out the cancer so the rest can live in peace. That's the only sane solution.

Bush's cutting out healthy parts while he's burning away cancer inefficiently and ineffectively, and that's why there's such a push to get him out of office.

But please, don't criticize Kerry for saying he'll do his best to make America safe by using force when force indeed needs to be used (it's not a judgment that's easy to make when you're not in the Big Chair, and he has to say *something* against this Cheney crap).

8. Kerry took on the Vietnam war machine,
the BCCI for money laundering, financing terrorists, etc, the Iran/Contra bunch. Kerry is no wimp. Powerful people were behind these crimes.

9. The US
is a large part of the polluted environment causing the cancer. Until we have the courage to own up to that fact there is no hope for peace, regardless of how many people we kill.

I'll leave the meaningless slogans to the neo-cons, vote for Kerry this time, and hope a leader with the common sense to elevate the discussion to a civilized level will come along before it's too late.
