GOP Convention Delegate Drops Out Over Bush
United Press International

One of the 2,509 delegates to the Republican National Conventions has dropped out because of dissatisfaction with President Bush.

Congressional Quarterly reported Friday that after attending four previous conventions, Philadelphia's Jesse Walters was chosen as a delegate to this year's GOP convention in New York only to resign the position, saying he could not support Bush and expressing concern with the rightward move of the Republican Party.

Calling the decision to drop his position one of the five hardest he has had to make in his life, Walters said he plans to cast his first-ever vote for a Democrat for president in November. ..

5. Yea but

The polls say Bush is winning. LA Times has Bush taking 15% of the Democrats? LMAO LMAO LMAO

Dude can't even hang onto moderate Republicans...how is he bagging Dems? The question is he's not. I have a feeling the polls are nothing but fodder to keep things interesting. Still, nail his ass JK

8. yeah, heard something similar from Gallup today
Yes, Gallup--Omaha-based pollster. Says that even though there is dissatisfaction with bush, it doesn't necessarily translate into support for Kerry.

7. Here are his four other "hardest decisions":
--Whether to have bananas or raisins on his cereal
--The brown socks or the argyle
--Biking or just a brisk walk
--Folding his underwear or just stuffing it in the drawer

I mean, come on! How hard of a decision could this be?

9. I bet there are more that feel that way.
For every Zell Miller, there are others who have a better perspective.
I don't see how a thinking person can support him anyway.

13. I KNOW Jesse Walters!!!!!!
He's in my division in my ward in Philly. He's a very very nice man. Honest, hard-working, impeccable manners. If only more Republicans had his qualities, we might actually be able to have decent political discourse once again in this country.

18. Why was it a hard decision?
Pretz. Asshole is a country wrecker and serial killer. There is no question about it.

I bet there are plenty more like him but they are probably scared of rerpuke payback.

I applaude him, he must feel 1000% better now.

22. Once again I'll say it,

the only way Bush will win this election is if he does what he did in 2000. Steals it. I'm totally convinced that registered Democrats that are going to vote greatly out-number Republicans of the same. The "stealing of the presidency" is the major thing I am worried about. I know we've got the votes to win it all!

28. The common buzz
At first it was Bush can't be beat, then it was worry and lack of confidence in the primary candidates. Then it was that the red states were too firm and then it edged into "closeness"> Now you hear from the man on the the streets that Bush will steal the election.

Next it will be that it will so much a landslide that Bush will have to create a crisis. In fact, I am hearing that already from people not aficionados of the Internet.

None of this of course is exactly earning Bush any votes. In fact, the drama is counterproductive, whipping up more people even in his party to vote against him. And he has absolutely no choice.

Like the stump in "Shane". It is going to go, but we haven't seen the movie play out yet.

24. I heard on Washington Week that there will be more African American
delegates than ever before....last time more Blacks were on the stage than on the floor...but this time...more will be in the audience...

I bet the cameras pan the audience more than ever...and focus on those specific delegates.

26. If the entire U.S. was voting with Paper & Pencil
and all registered voters were ALLOWED TO VOTE (!), this election would be the biggest landslide this country has ever witnessed.

But because of funky programming on the new machines, the neocons have even put CALIPHUCKINGFORNIA in a "swing" column!!!! Bushbots know the FIX IS IN, and unless protesters mob every election office in the country in the next couple of weeks, we may find ourselves with four more years of this nazi regime.
