Bush Hopeful Energy Bill Can Be Reworked
President Bush voiced confidence Tuesday that pending energy legislation in Congress can be reworked to address the sort of electricity transmission problems typified by last week's widespread blackout.

Chatting with reporters while on his way to play golf not far from his ranch here, Bush said a conference committee of House and Senate lawmakers, designed to resolve differences in the energy bill, should be "up and running" in about three weeks.

Bush said he talked by phone Monday night with Rep. Billy Tauzin, R-La., and Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M., two of Congress's leading players on energy issues.

"Both members are very optimistic about reaching an agreement, obviously on infrastructure modernization," he said, "but as importantly, other issues related to energy."

1. So now we're seeing the result of all those secret energy meetings...
Massive Grid Failure.
I think it's obvious that those energy meetings had nothing to do with the common good, but were centered on something much more deceitful.
Think people will get a clue?
There's always hope. Lots and lots of hope.
*sigh*

That this blatant hypocrisy is lost on so much of the populace really makes me sad soometimes. :-(

2. We depemd on media - and the us media has turned to treason
protect Bush at all costs

ask no question unless you are sure the answer will not lead to a Bush problem (besides - investigating "questions" might mean work - and you'd be acting like you do not trust your good contacts in the administration)!

5. I can only imagine the kind of conversations at that meeting.

"Just speculatively, of course, what would have to happen to get our way?"

"I think the public would need to experience widespread disruptions. When they're scared, we can get our way."

"What kind of disruptions?"

"Well, if all of California, already with the lowest per capita energy use and not able to use much less, were subjected to power shortages and hugely inflated electrical prices, we might be able to blame it on those Democrats there and get people elected who're willing to let us drill offshore and consolidate more holdings there. Remember, thanks to good ol' Pete and Phil, we have just the right kind of power there to do this if we work carefully together rather than compete."

"Anything else?"

"Well, let's recall the blackouts in the Northeast in 1965. After that happened, we made a great deal of progress in taking over the infrastructure so we could make massive profits by sucking it dry. Maybe a widespread blackout would help get huge amounts of public money without strings."

"Well, like I said, it's just speculation." {wink} {wink}

3. All our energy problems will be solved
All our energy problems will be solved when * gets his way and the drilling platforms are moved to the ANWR. Why can't people understand that is the key to our secure energy future?

/sarcasm

And, until 'Mericun's sees that, the * admin will continue to hold the public hostage and reliant on a crumbling power infrastructure.

4. "I don't know how long it's going to take to find out what went wrong," he
The debate, however, is likely again to become muddled in conflict among regional interests, a reluctance of states to surrender power to the federal government, and differences between warring factions within the electric power industry itself.

There are theories about Blackout03.
4:11 was a convenient time for financial
industry.

The longer we go w/o an answer to
what caused the blackout, the more
credence I will give to those theories.

Always watch for who gets punished,
who gets rewarded.
What gets done immediately
What gets put off.
If a Mistake happens and
Someone profits from it
watch for the Mistake to be repeated.
