PM gets personal in Latham attack

Mark Latham would be incapable of handling difficult issues if he were prime minister because he lacked courage, was unreliable and unpredictable, Prime Minister John Howard warned yesterday.

Mr Howard also criticised Mr Latham's controversial pledge to bring Australian troops in Iraq home by Christmas and his comments about sea bed negotiations with East Timor.
