UAE reaffirms support to Council - Iraq
A high-level delegation of the Iraqi governing council will arrive in the UAE today, it was announced yesterday.

The delegation will be headed by Ibrahim Al Jaafari, Chairman of the 25-member council.

In a statement ahead of the visit, an official source at the UAE Foreign Ministry welcomed the delegation, saying that its visit comes at a time when the Iraqi governing council is increasingly gaining international recognition as it seeks to regain Iraq's status among the comity of nations.

"The tremendous international support that the council has received so far is undoubtedly a confidence-booster. It will serve to help the council realise the aspirations of the Iraqi people for stability and security," said the source.
