Republican Party Outsources Call Center Jobs
http://www.ibew.org/stories/03daily/0308/030805_Bush.htm

"First it was boxes in a warehouse with the words, "Made in China" covered up with duct tape. Now, it’s dialing for campaign dollars from a call center in India."

http://www.business-standard.com/archives/2003/jan/50310103.016.asp

"The US Republican Party now has a band of young and enthusiastic fund-raisers in Noida and Gurgaon.

HCL eServe, the business process outsourcing arm of the Shiv Nadar-promoted HCL Technologies, has bagged a project to undertake a fund-raising campaign for the US Republican Party over the telephone.

This is the first time such a project has been handed out to a company outside the US. The market research and public relations companies engaged by the party usually undertake such projects."

2. This is bad
Unions should jump on this. Democrats should jump on this. Working people should jump on this. (I just hope the Dems aren't doing the same thing.)

How will the spinmeisters work it?

3. I'm not exactly an expert on Hinduism, but........
.....I would think the Indians would refuse to work for the Idiot Son Of An Asshole "Re-election" Campaign for Karmic reasons alone. Wouldn't the enabling of such evil on the world land you in some deep do-do for the next life?

And (dodging blunt objects from the Greens) is Shiv Nadar a distant cousin of Ralphie??

4. It's time to play Connect the Dots!
Bush gives tax breaks and outsources contracts to the very rich and large corporations. A healthy portion of these benefits are returned to Bush and the GOP in the form of campaign donations, which are then used to fund jobs in India! ! !

So Bush's tax cuts did so create jobs!

10. 8 months old?
Really? I just heard it for the first time today and I consider myself to be a news junkie. Especially when it concerns anything that makes chickenhawk thugs like Rumsfeld look bad.

11. The weakness of the Republican denial

The Republican Party denied they had contracted this firm to do this work.

The key is the weakness of their denial.

They didn't deny they were using fundraisers who had overseas call centers.

They didn't deny this firm had done other work for them in the past or would in the future.

They never contacted the publishers of the news reports to print a correction.

16. Idiots

This surprises you? Dem leadership is out playing on the same golf course as Republican leadership.

There is absolutely ZERO motivation, ZERO mobilization from the Democratic leadership.

I got an email from the Dem Party asking for money and i said that I'd send them some money as soon as they showed they were ready to take on this fight.

Until then, I'll just keep sending money to non-profit conservation and health care organizations.

The elected Democrats live in fear of offending anyone, even those who want to destroy them.
