"A Dutch soldier was killed and another injured in an attack in the town of Samawa in southern Iraq, Dutch media say quoting officials.

"The Defence Ministry says hand grenades were thrown at patrolling soldiers as they crossed a bridge over the Euphrates," Radio Netherlands said on its Website on Tuesday.

Newspapers said the attack came on Monday."
