Former Lawmaker Is Going To Prison
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Former state Rep. Tom Druce is returning to prison.

The state Supreme Court upheld his sentence Thursday.

Druce was sentenced to prison for a fatal accident in which he struck a pedestrian with his Jeep. He then left the scene and lied to his insurance company about how his vehicle was damaged.

The former Bucks County representative pleaded guilty to evidence tampering and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with the 1999 hit-and-run death of Kenneth Cains, of Harrisburg.<snip>

This is great news. Druce killed a pedestrian and tried to cover it up in 2000, appealing a sentence from a Dauphin County judge. The State Supreme Court has upheld his conviction.

Sorry about the local link but it is just breaking on local TV news.

5. And he's the prototype hypocrite Repuke
<snip>Shortly after, he had the utility vehicle - a Pennsylvania State leased
vehicle - thank you Mr. & Mrs. Taxpayer - repaired about an hour north of
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - in Warrington, Pennsylvania.

I live about 5 minutes from the repair shop - Malcolm's. Just so happens
that Malcolm's still had the Tom Druce bumper when the investigators'
questioned them. It was all over TV and in plain view of the cameras.

Then the vehicle was taken into the New York area. Tom proceeded to obtain a
brand new utility vehicle.

One irony in this pathetic mess is that in 1996 Mr. Tom voted for a bill
that imposed a mandatory
1 year prison sentence for anyone leaving the scene of a Vehicular Homicide.
That must have
been in his "Church Going" days. The man was righteous!<snip>

Druce, you'll recall, was the up-and-coming state representative and Republican firebrand who ran into a bit of trouble late on July 27, 1999 when he ran into pedestrian Kenneth Cains on a Harrisburg street. Cains, a down-on-his-luck Marine Corps veteran, was killed instantly from the impact with Druce's taxpayer-leased Jeep Cherokee.

8. No different than the Roman Catholic Bishop of Phoenix
Except, of course, that Thomas J. O'Brien isn't doing any prison time and is even trying to include his commuting time as "community service."

:grr:

10. Is he the one who actually had a body stuck in his windshield?
If so,...I feel sick, right now. That man should definitely be behind bars,...not "community service".

11. You are thinking of Chante Mallard

Chante Mallard was "messed up on X pills" and driving her 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier when, by her own account, "I hit this white man." What happened after that Fort Worth, Texas accident is detailed in this horrifying affidavit filed in support of a murder charge just leveled against the 25-year-old woman. Prosecutors allege that after Mallard struck Greg Glenn Biggs, a 37-year-old homeless man, she continued driving with the victim "sticking halfway into the passenger compartment through the windshield." When Mallard reached her home, she left the car in her garage--with Biggs still encased in the windshield. He would die there two days later. Police say Mallard, a nurse's aide, ignored Biggs's repeated pleas for help.
