Philippines storm triggers deadly flash floods

Flash floods sparked by a tropical storm in the southern Philippines have killed at least 180 people and left hundreds missing, officials say.

Many of the victims were asleep when it struck Mindanao island, killing many in Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro. <snip>

Large areas were left without power and some domestic flights were cancelled as winds of up to 90 km/h (55mph) swept across the island. <snip>

Nearly 100 dead bodies - most of them children - had already been found in the city (Cagayan de Oro), officials say.
