Grease star Jeff Conaway dead at 60 (Was also in Taxi, Babylon 5, Celebrity Rehab)
Edited on Fri May-27-11 02:02 PM by Ian David
Source: Mail OnLine

Grease star Jeff Conaway died today after a drug overdose sent him into a coma two weeks ago.

His family are understood to have decided to turn off his life support machine yesterday.

His ex-girlfriend Vikki Lizzi, who claims she has power of attorney over the 60-year-old, had tried to block the move.

The actor, who famously played Kenickie in the hit 1978 film, had been in a deep coma since taking an overdose of painkillers earlier this month.

R.I.P., Mr. Conway.

More proof there is no god: Jeff Conway is dead, but Jerry Doyle is still alive.

12. We try to forget Mr. Doyle
Stupid bastard (Doyle) was actually great in B5 but thinking about his real life unpleasantness distracts.

So the B5 death roll continues to crush horribly. 2 principles and at least 2 minor characters gone now. All too young.

Andreas Katsulas, Richard Biggs, Tim Choate and now Conaway.

23. Crap. I loved him in Babylon 5. Loved the whole show!
And jerry doyle...

I remember when he was dating Andrea Thompson and they were both trying to keep it hush-hush. But I was interviewing them and both of them told me.

I liked him as Garibaldi. He disgusts me as a knuckle-dragger hate radio host. SHEESH, what a downfall.

Jeff Conaway - rest in peace. Your suffering is over, at last.

18. Of course I remember Jerry Doyle as Micahel Garibaldi
What's funny is Doyle has some nutty right-wing national radio talk show. He probably actually had more viewers on Babylon 5 as he has on his national radio show.

3. My thoughts and prayers are with the family
To decide whether or not to remove life support from a family member must be a horribly gut-wrenching decision.

Handing out invitations - "Do you spell your name with one 'O' or 2?"
Bobby: "One"
Rev Jim: (handing him the invitation)"Here you go Booby".

RIP Booby!

5. "Taxi" was one of the all-time classic sitcoms
I just posted the "What does a yellow light mean?" scene on my facebook page. I thought it was a fitting tribute to Mr. Conaway.

7. Slow down!

One of my fondest memories: My mom and I laughing so hard at that scene we could hardly breathe.

10. So tragic. The addiction won.
He seemed like a good guy who could never get above the pain, physical and mental, and it just beat him.

11. Another source - not an overdose
http://www.cnn.com/2011/SHOWBIZ/celebrity.news.gossip/05/27/jeff.conaway.dead/

Initial reports that Conaway suffered a drug overdose were inaccurate, a source with knowledge of his medical condition said last week. However, his use of drugs caused him not to realize how ill he was, keeping him from getting treatment for pneumonia until it was too late, the source said.
