New footage emerges of bin Laden compound
Edited on Sat May-07-11 05:55 AM by trud
Source: al Jazeera English

"Al Jazeera has obtained new footage of the compound where Osama bin Laden was killed.

The pictures show the interiors of the house where the al-Qaeda leader is thought to have been hiding for up to six years."

They say it was sold to them by a Pakistani security person. Someone from Pakistani security also supplied al Jazeera with death photos of the people killed in the raid (see sidebar.)

The place is a dump. Even taking into account that the US must have trashed it looking for the computer stuff and paper records, and the Pakistanis then reportedly stripped it of everything else of value, it looks like it was a miserable place before. The possibly only nice thing is the vegetable garden is set up well, and even that is not good considering it's already spring.

6. Supposedly, Osama was an ascetic. And that was one of his many deep differences with Saddam.
One of the many reasons no Arab ever believed Bushco's Bushit about a connection between Al Q'aeeda and Saddam and 911.

7. Maybe he was very ill. He lived around the corner from a hospital.
The papers inside the house will reveal how actively involved he was in Al Qaeda at the time of his death. I doubt that we will ever be told the truth about that because it will be valuable intelligence for preventing future terrorism.

The reaction of members of the Bush administration is puzzling to me. I would have expected them to be delighted that he was found and that Americans can close the chapter at least on his leadership of Al Qaeda.

It would seem appropriate for someone to ask members of the Bush administration whether any of them had any suspicion that Obama might be openly residing in an urban area of Pakistan and, if so, why they did not capture him at least in the final days of the Bush administration.

9.  "Obama might be openly residing in an urban area of Pakistan"
I know nit was a typo, but there are loony birthers who actually believe that he did that when he was in his youth.

10. Woops! Huge, huge mistake. Sorry.
I don't know what happens to my typing when I am on DU. I think it may be that my letters appear in Courier and I find it hard to read so I don't see my errors.

I apologize big, big time. Wish I could delete my post. Thanks for letting me know.

4. That is silly
They ransack his home and then pretend that is how he lived with no furniture, clothes and things strewn about the floor. Can these reporters become any stupider?

look at the garbage. Even when you see a house drug agents have trashed in the U.S., you can tell if it was a decent looking house before. Also, they said in the video that the furniture was removed as I noted in my post, if you'd read it.

8. "MTV Cribs" al Jazeera edition?
Given that Osama had as many videos as Lady Gaga, you would think MTV would feature OBL's crib. Right?
