Osama Bin Laden Evidence: Al Qaeda Considered 9/11 Anniversary Attack
Source: abc

An early read of the materials seized from Osama bin Laden's compound has not yet produced evidence of a specific, imminent terror plot against the U.S., but does show the group continues to have murderous aspirations, according to U.S. officials and to documents obtained by ABC News.

The trove of evidence U.S. Navy SEALs recovered during their raid of Bin Laden's compound, which cost the al Qaeda leader his life, shows that al Qaeda remained fixated on so-called soft targets like transportation.

A new bulletin issued tonight by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security and obtained by ABC News describes the terror organization's chilling desire to derail a train.

1. "The evidence appears to confirm that Bin Laden still had a role in approving al Qaeda plots"
See he still wanted us dead. I wonder which of us may have been on those trains?

A train of lumber cars derailed in Portland Wednesday afternoon, sparking a fiery blaze that closed Hwy 30 and caused evacuations in a half-mile area surrounding the blaze.

KGW learned that local fire officials were contacted within minutes of the first reports by government officials asking if there was a terrorist connection to the derailment.

10. Your Dept of Homeland Obscurity
are going to have a field day............for the next few years or so. That's despite the fact that analysts reckon "terrorists" will go underground and stay quiet for a few years or so.

Keep your head down anyway. :hi:

6. Did Bin-Laden finance Al-Quida himself?
Edited on Thu May-05-11 05:12 PM by notadmblnd
I was wondering because of all the noise about increased threats since his death. If he was the banker, how will they be able to continue financing their cowardly operations?

Seems to me that if he is now dead, threats decrease greatly. No?

11. Well if you add up the cost of their expenditure on 9/11
the highest cost was the plane tickets to Florida wherever and the flying lessons. Hardly a fucking fortune unless they got ripped on the box cutters at The Depot.

I don't terrorist attacks are a function of cost.

13. Well I realize that it is not a fortune
But people with good lives aren't usually attracted to groups like al Queda, are they? It always been my understand that one of the major factors of al queda recruiting- was from a vast pool of victims of poverty. So I was just thinking, with Bin-Laden dead, who is going to pay for their little excursions? Does anyone think that this group just might fade into obscurity?

12. They will decrease as soon as the media and the riff-raff will stop talking

about it, which in my estimate could take a week or two...

Then there will still be the thousands of 'Obama Got Osama' bumper stickers all over the place (and a few mentions in the presidential campaign), but I guess if enough 'vigilence' remains 'under the radar' my guess is nothing much will change (from 'before obl's bin axed').

14. So,,, Bin Laden
was financing/training/planning another terrorist attack, which may have taken the lives of hundreds or thousands of people. This plan now will not happen thanks to President Obama's ordering the attack on Osama in Pakistan. We have gained a treasure trove of evidence and plans from OBL. We sent a message to the terrorists that none of them are safe. If we can get OBL, the most protected person in your organization, we can get you too.

Wonder how Bush would have handled it. He would have said "Osama is in Pakistan? Huh. OMG! Those Iranians are getting too big for their britches!"

15. Whatever they seized we don't know if the reports are accurate if NeoCons in
Pentagon are trying to use stuff for Talking Points. I worry about us going through more Bush years of Terra Alerts being leaked to keep us having to be groped and X-Rayed by TSA and other freedoms erroding.

I want to believe that Obama will control what comes out..but, given what he's faced with I doubt he can do this.

We need to be cautious about this.. but, I'm not saying that there aren't threats to us, either. Just we need to be careful not to get back into the Bush Years with constant TERRA! TERRA! TERRA! when we don't know who is "leaking" what. We've already seen so much screw ups in info coming out after this Raid on Osama that it's confusing. I don't blame Obama for that...but those around him who are warring with each other and many loyal to the Administrations who Came Before.
