5. Al Jazeera denies reporting Japan hostages free
from what I can tell all the reports about the freed hostages go back to AlJazeera....and now they are denying report. Haven't seen anything on CNNI or BBC yet this am.

6. BBC World Service: Hostage Release, Whereabouts Unconfirmed
In their last hourly update at 08:00 GMT (04:00 EDT), they said that a Japanese diplomat working to secure the freedom of the three hostages cannot confirm their wherabouts, or that they are safe, despite media reports that they had been released.

:-(

Hopefully, the BBC will have better news at the top of the hour.
