Largest protest yet fails to sway lawmakers....
Source: AP:

None of it — not the ear-splitting chants, the pounding drums or the back-and-forth debate between 70,000 protesters — changed the minds of Wisconsin lawmakers dug into a stalemate over Republican efforts to scrap union rights for almost all public workers.

"The people who are not around the Capitol square are with us," said Rep. Robin Vos, a Republican from Rochester and co-chair of the Legislature's budget committee. "They may have a bunch around the square, but we've got the rest on our side."

I have the utmost respect and support for the people in WI. But Koch money is HUGE and the Republicans in the legislature are clear who they are serving and who they want to crush. And the attention of the American public is short. So Progressives can't rely on a waiting game. Is there a way the rest of the nation can help the protesters close this deal?

Idea: As I understand it, half of the WI legislature was elected two years ago, and that means these folks can presumably be recalled NOW (e.g, the 12 month rule). Perhaps we could start and fund a recall for those who support the Governor on this. It would take fundraising and keep the story alive statewide, precinct wide. Hey, WI, I'm ready to help if you let us know how.

5. Recall the bastards
Capitalize on the energy of 70,000 people and recall the Republican Bastards. It is time to send a message to the rest of the country, the way Tunisia sent a message to Egypt and Egypt sent one to Baharain, Yemen, Jordan, and Iran. Most importantly, use the energy of these 70,000 to bring the economy down. Stop the economy! That will get the ReBasts' attention.

10. ...as well as dead ones...
This is like the "silent majority" the GOP created out of whole cloth in the early 1980s. It's a great scam -- like making someone prove a negative. You can't prove that everyone who isn't at the protest supports the protesters, so obviously they all must support the GOP.

These guys never give up, do they?

The American Voters elected these republican Tyrants
back into power in the 2010 Election. Having given
the Democrats all of 18 months, to undue the devastation
to the Nation done by 8 years of republican rule.
The Voters turned around, and handed control back to the
very scoundrels what did the damage.

These Corporate republicans will now do all they can to
destroy the Unions, Social Security, Medicare, etc etc.
The deeds of these jackals will effect all Americans in
the wallet. When the cuts bite the Rightwing Voters in
the ass, I suppose they will be thrilled at the degradation.
Not the brightest Lot by any means. A poor man that votes
republican, is analogous to a chicken voting for Col Sanders.
There are millions of Fox viewers that have done just that.

No one is on your side Tyrants. Only your Corporate Sugar Daddies.

13. Sounds like the old "Silent Majority" argument
If you're not AT the protest, you MUST be for the Republican governor's goals.
