Obama to meet Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg

WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama will meet Apple chief Steve Jobs and other US high-tech gurus Thursday in California, US officials have said

Google CEO Eric Schmidt will also participate in the closed doors meeting, part of an event with business leaders in Silicon Valley, an official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

ABC News reported that Facebook's 26-year-old founder Mark Zuckerberg would also participate in the talks, just days after Egyptian protesters toppled Hosni Mubarak's decades-old regime in a popular uprising facilitated by social networks

1. Good. I don't really have a problem with Obama as President meeting anyone or...
...that kind of thing. Unfortunately, though, in the context of his behavior since taking office there is not the best patina on the whole thing but, really, I think, it isn't a big deal.

I would like to see more headlines involving Obama meeting with some social magnates as well but he's a busy guy and I wouldn't be surprised if he was.

4. My take on this is that the US needs more high tech jobs and Pres. Obama is seeking ideas on that

The President has been promoting high tech jobs for the US since his campaign. I see this as nothing more than a fact finding meeting to gather information in support of furthering these high tech jobs.
