Edited on Wed Feb-16-11 12:33 PM by Viva_La_Revolution
Source: CNN

Three deputy U.S. Marshals were shot while serving an arrest warrant at a West Virginia home Wednesday morning, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service said.

The deputies were hit by a shotgun blast after entering a home in Elkins, West Virginia, at about 8:30 a.m., the spokesman said.

Two of the officers were taken to a local hospital for treatment, while the third deputy was transported by helicopter.

The condition of the officers is not known, the spokesman said.

4. criminals
they were serving warrant because he missed a court date

The marshals and State Police troopers were at the home of Charles Smith at about 8:30 a.m. to serve a warrant on him for failing to appear in court on possession of drugs and firearms charges, according to sources.

After announcing that they were there to serve a warrant, officers breached the door and stepped into the house.

Freepers will use that as proof he's a pot-smokin' liberal.

I actually think republicans do more drugs, have more closeted homosexual sex, and cheat on their wives more than liberals do. The proof is in the google.

I am a gun owner & until I suffered a spinal cord injury (Nothing related to guns!) I shot in numerous pistol & rifle competitions. It is a wonderful sport & even held in the Olympics.

You just labeled me as a cold blooded murderer & violent criminal...I think you owe me & others an apology.

no comparison. Shooting at targets is much more fun - especially if you are on the range at West Point and are shooting tracer ammo with an M-16! My godsons got a couple of the targets to smoke doing that.

15. Try telling me that when a rabid fox jumps your kid.
Or a rabid skunk
Or a rabid coyote
Or a pack of dogs

Or maybe you don't have those where you live.

But out where I'm at, the rabies cases are off the charts.

And since people like to dump their dogs out here, there are occasionally hungry scared aggressive dogs out and about.

Guns are useful tools in the right circumstances. Like an axe or machete, which could have inflicted just as much damage.

There's a difference between comprehending a threat and being in fear of it.

Because the government has them...

And the cops...and the criminals....

You do understand that MILLIONS of people own guns in this country (myself included) and NEVER aim at anything other than paper targets, have families and jobs and do not break the law, right?

As long as the government possesses weapons, the citizens should own them as well.

came into possession of someone who shouldn't have them?

Imagine that.

So there is really no basis for distinguishing between good and bad ownership is there?

The presence of the guns in society was and is the one true problem.

Obviously.
