PNAC's "Rebuilding America's Defenses" is full of dreams of death and destruction from space, as well as other mad scientist scenarios (e.g. race based biological warfare). To even begin to understand these guys, you have to read this document.

4. Massive amount of money diverted from anti-terror operations.

The only purpose of this project is to divert taxpayer money to Bush's friends, the military corporations. The project does not improve national defense, but degrades it. Massive amounts of money are diverted from the actual fight on terror, and other useful military purposes. Because of this project, the infantry will not get better equipment. The real fighters are the ones who suffer from this blatant warmongering and profiteering.
