5. That's ok there are more sources now
Edited on Mon Jun-28-10 04:09 PM by MyNameGoesHere
so that ain't helping. The first alert i got was from MSNBC which I don't think is owned or operated by carlson. But MSNBC had no more than just the blinking headline so I added that as a source to comply with rules.

But your concern is noted and hopefully the next time a "DU sanctioned liberal news source" will have the breaking news first.

Also rarely are there coincidences in Washington. Medvedev was indeed here a few days ago. Timing stinks.

18. Actually, Russian spies have operated under every President
Russian intelligence officers have operated on our soil for decades. The State Department under Roosevelt was penetrated with Russian spies. These people came here with the sole purpose of penetrating our government at the highest levels, and that should concern all of us, regardless of who is President..

This is a very big deal. And anyone who was working with them will not be resting easy tonight. You can be sure of that.

12. The Russians/Soviets have a long history of 'deep covers'
Even as superpower tensions subsided in the mid-1980s and after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Moscow continued not only to recruit turncoat Americans and other Westerners, but to penetrate Western societies with highly trained, long-term espionage officers and agents.

26. Major Russian spy ring busted
Source: Yahoo.com

WASHINGTON – The FBI has arrested 10 people who allegedly spied for Russia for up to a decade — posing as innocent civilians while trying to infiltrate U.S. policymaking circles and learn about U.S. weapons, diplomatic strategy and political developments.

An 11th defendant — a man accused of delivering money to the agents — remains at large.

There was no clue in the court papers unsealed Monday about how successful the agents had been, but they were alleged to have been long-term, deep cover spies. Among them were four couples living in suburbs of New York, Washington and Boston. One woman was a reporter and editor for a prominent Spanish-language newspaper in New York whom the FBI says it videotaped contacting a Russian official in 2000 in Latin America.
