4. I'm listening to Thom Hartmann right now on Sirius ...
I'm just hoping that one of my favorite progressive stars will not wind up broadcasting at the same time as another. I fear that Hartmann will be against Franken. I will have to listen to repeat broadcasts somehow. I went from Famine to Feast! Having trouble processing!

22. KBLA 1580 AM - Los Angeles
Currently is a Korean language station. I hope they do some advertisment in the LA area prior to going on the air.

It points to a Drudge story about coverage of the Martha Stewart verdict.

12. Where did you read that it would be streamed?
I've been trying to find out about that topic for some time now. I live in Indy, so no station here will pick them up.

13. in the Drudge article
Edited on Wed Mar-10-04 02:26 PM by Independent429
Air America Radio, a progressive talk radio network, announced today it will hit the airwaves on March 31st. "Air America Radio is launching in the top U.S. markets with leading talent that will provide compelling and entertaining programming on the radio, on satellite feeds, and on the web," said Mark Walsh, Chief Executive Officer of Air America Radio. “We aim to build an important new media franchise that delivers results.”

They would have to stream it for it to reach anyone outside NY, Chicago, LA, and SF. It doesn't cost too much to stream audio and takes less bandwidth than you may think. I guarantee there will be plenty of mirrors out there to help stream it. Trust me, the progressive message WILL get out there.

15. Will it be carried by Sirrus?
I wanted to by that option and decided not to when Mike Malloy and ieAmerica went bye-bye.

9. Affiliates list?
Edited on Wed Mar-10-04 01:59 PM by Caution
Can't find one online, hoping there is an affiliate in the boston area.

On Edit: Or if I had carefully read the release I would have seen the following:

WLIB (AM 1190am) in New York,
WNTD (AM 950) in Chicago and
KBLA (AM 1580) in Los Angeles
and a station in San Francisco to be named before launch

Duh. No Boston. Someone rich in Boston needs to get off their butt and open a station.

10. It IS going . . .
to be broadcast in Boston. I do not know the affiliate. Check out Randi Rhodes website for more information. Her site is more up-to-date than Air America for now.

16. How am I going to get a stream link at work?
When is somebody going to take over the internet and put signals over entire communities so we can use our card links? I don't mind paying a fee if its reasonable but it pisses me off that I can only use my card in my house when there are plenty of sources all over town and boosters are cheap. My brother set up his entire condo community with one big signal and every apartment has internet for about ten bucks-(he says he's keeping the extra money in a special account for future upgrades as necessary with refunds every year if they don't need the money for the internet or equipment). Other than that-how are we ever going to get anything done?! too much to hear read and think about - I am thinking about finding a surgury to have so I can saturate myself!
