Limbaugh cites judge's case in claiming prosecutorial bias
heh. just one little tiny detail is being left out in the comparison between rush limbaugh and this judge... that detail being that the judge was FORCIBLY REMOVED FROM HIS BENCH. which is exactly what should have happened to the disfunctional, drug-addled rush limbaugh. if they want to use this judge as an example, rush should STEP DOWN FROM HIS LITTLE BULLY PULPIT. then the comparison will make sense.

Limbaugh cites judge's case in claiming prosecutorial bias

By Susan Spencer-Wendel, Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
Sunday, March 7, 2004

WEST PALM BEACH -- Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh has said prosecutors, specifically State Attorney Barry Krischer, a Democrat, have set out on a "fishing expedition" against him.

On Friday, Limbaugh, who is being investigated for illegal "doctor-shopping," offered up new evidence of unfair treatment.

On his syndicated talk show and on his Web site, he referred to the case of a Palm Beach County judge removed from the bench last year after it became public he was addicted to OxyContin.

County Judge Robert Schwartz was forced off the bench in February 2003, after a year of being unable to function partly because of his addiction. Schwartz was never investigated criminally, though -- an unfair double standard, Limbaugh's camp said.

"After admitting an eight-year addiction, Judge Schwartz entered treatment voluntarily and was praised by the community, not investigated and never prosecuted by the Palm Beach State Attorney's Office," Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement Friday.

Chief Judge Edward Fine said Friday that judicial commission members investigated Schwartz's situation, consulted with doctors, and that no allegation of anything criminal ever came to light, so there was no criminal investigation.

1. Another detail left out...
...is that this Judge probably did not end up with the authorities having a confirmed trafficker's testimony (and audio tapes) about specific illegal purchaces and quantities.

2. Well it's Rush...
Yeah, well it's Rush. Remember when complaining about other people was a smoke screen? Well, now that the shoe is on the other foot, there's bias in our legal system. He sounds like the six year old, who tells his mom, "Johnny did the same thing." Like that makes it all right.

3. I think Limbaugh's using the accumulated right-wing noise
to try to intimidate the prosecutors. I hope it backfires on him convincingly.

Here's a Limbaugh-related article:

Prosecutors defend release of Limbaugh correspondence

Associated Press

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - In response to a Florida Bar complaint, Palm Beach County prosecutors are defending their release of correspondence about plea negotiations with attorneys for conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.

Landmark Legal Foundation filed the ethics complaint against Palm Beach County State Attorney Barry Krischer and his chief assistant for releasing letters with Limbaugh's attorneys.

Landmark President Mark R. Levin alleged Krischer and Kenneth Selvig misrepresented conversations they had with the state attorney general's office and the bar before deciding to make the letters public.

Prosecutors wrote the defense in December that they had enough evidence to support 10 felony charges. Limbaugh has not been charged.

4. The judge needs to put a gag order on Rush
Rush is digging himself in deeper and deeper all the time.
