Bush Says Kerry Would Take Away Tax Cut (For the weathy)
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=544&ncid=703&e=4&u=/ap/20040304/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - President Bush (news - web sites) charged Thursday that Democratic rival John Kerry (news - web sites)'s approach to recent tax cuts would be to "take them away" and use the money to expand the federal government.

"I have a better idea: to keep this economy growing and to create jobs, the tax cuts must be permanent," Bush said at a fund-raiser where he banked more than $700,000 for a re-election war chest that already dwarfs Kerry's. snip

Kerry's campaign hit back even before Bush started talking. It noted that hundreds of thousands more people are unemployed in California than when Bush took office in January 2001, and that the unemployment rate in this inland region is more than 13 percent.

"George W. Bush has consistently promised that his tax cuts will deliver jobs, but the results are terrible," Kerry's campaign said in a statement.

1. Here's what I think
Anybody who is President in 2005 is going to have to rescind the tax cuts, even if it's Bush.

The deficit is going up so high and we're still getting into wars overseas, Haiti, Pakistian, etc. that we'll need that money to finance the military.

4. Not true
Bush will push through even more tax cuts for the wealthy. There's no way he would raise taxes.

The whole idea is to gut the treasury so that there's no money for any social programs. It's called "Starve the Beast". It's the plan that they are following and they are executing it successfully.

5. It's an idiotic idea. It's going to starve our military, also.
Social programs are already down to the bone and alot of those social programs are pork that many many folks in Congress like to bring home to their constituents.

6. Bush has wanted to gut Social Security from the get go.
That is why they are legally raiding our treasury with halliburton contracts. The faster he can bankrupt Social Security, the faster he can get rid of it.

2. Kerry's been saying that himself
No big news, Georgie. But Kerry says he'll use it to fund education. Tell your people THAT, George.

3. If the average person's tax cut was $300 and he's raising $700K
from this fundraiser alone, there must be 2,333 individuals who are willing to give up their annual tax cut to get him reelected. Oh, wait, this is a fundraising group that must be getting more than their paltry $300. Let's amend the constitution to eliminate fundraising and political donations. Spending $150 Million to get a $200K a year job, they should be grateful.

8. I hate to add to anyones bush* rage but, Pres paid 200K in 2000,
the new rate started with bush* in 2001 and is 400,000! Not that that amount makes a difference to the Looter-In-Chief, but it's just another piece of bs that Clinton worked so damn hard, for us ALL, that it's just not right that Never-Worked-An-Honest-Day-In-His-Life waltzes in and gets DOUBLE!

9. The Republican message on tax cuts is a fraud
The Bush administration mantra is "the tax cuts are working" and are responsible for the rebound in the economy. That is simply not the case. What is driving any rebound in this economy is LOW INTEREST RATES. Greenspan is keeping them low as a favor to the Bushites.

If you don't believe me just ask the heads of about 10 middle income families what has meant more to them over the past 18 months, the tax cuts or the lower interest rates? What caused new home owners to purchase their home or others to sell and buy up? It was NOT LOWER TAXES because most people don't even see that in their pay checks. Their decisions were based on LOW INTEREST rates which have caused many to refinance or take out home equity loan. That's the money, along with credit card cash advances that is being spent, not the imaginary money from tax cuts. Why can't people understand this and why do the Dems allow Bush to get away with saying this without being challenged? I haven't heard on Dem say this to a pundit who is praising Bush tax cuts.

AND why do Dems allow the Republicans to keep saying over and over that Kerry will "raise taxes?" Stopping further tax cuts in NOT "raising taxes." We will never be able to regain the Congress or the WH as long as we don't repsond to the propaganda in a meaninful way. I would like to see the Dems out on the campaign trail giving lessons to town hall meetings about what is really going on in this economy. There are economists who know this but they are never called on by the media.

10. How odd. A former Enron contractor stumps for Bush*
The Dog and Pony show continues. Bush* uses a business in California that is a former Enron contractor and a current Military contractor to tell America that tax cuts are "good".

Tell me Bush*.....how much did this fucking shill make off Enron? ...how much is this fucking shill making right now in your phony fucking "war" in Iraq? ... how much money is this fucking shill funneling into soft money coffers all over the country?

The blantant arrorgance of this mother fucker amazes me. What amazes me even more is that Republican voters can't see this fuck-up for what he really is.

11. These working class folks here in Bakersfield are getting screwed
Bush is not on their side. Bakersfield is mostly a working class town and Bush is doing nothing but making their lives worse yet they will still vote for him. Idiots!

It's a waste of time and it annoys the pig.
