Clinton Meets Kim In Bid To Free Jailed Duo

3:29pm UK, Tuesday August 04, 2009

Former US president Bill Clinton has reportedly met North Korean leader Kim Jong Il as he attempts to free two US journalists sentenced to 12 years of hard labour.

Radio Pyongyang and the Central Broadcasting Station told of the surprise meeting, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, which monitors the North's broadcasters.

Mr Clinton had "courteously" passed a verbal message to Jong Il from US President Barack Obama, the reports said.

The North Korean leader then expressed his thanks and the two shared a "wide-ranging exchange of views", broadcasters in the North continued.

5. Nope, he don't.
I wonder if Clinton is going to take heat for "giving Kim credibility" and all.

It would be a big win if he gets our people back.

Before the release, Chinoy said, "I suspect that it was made pretty clear in advance that Bill Clinton would be able to return with these two women, otherwise it would be a terrible loss of face for him."

Clinton's mission came as the United States and its allies in the region are seeking to push North Korea back into stalled nuclear disarmament talks. North Korea conducted a nuclear bomb test, its second, in May, and has conducted several missile tests since then. The United Nations responded to those tests by tightening and expanding sanctions on the nation.

8. Thank goodness we have both Clintons. They
have faults like the rest of us, but I think they care about this country like no others.

They are not perfect, but then again, neither is anyone else. Bill and Hillary deeply care about this country and have dedicated most of their lives to serving it.

7. I am so happy Bill and the Obama administration are trying to
get Ling and Lee out of prison and out of North Korea. These are brave and talented women, for whom I have the utmost respect. We can not forget them until they are free and at home, and back to work.

12. If the big dog gets the girls back the Republicans will be really pissed.
Bill will do whatever is necessary to get the job done. BTW, that is the secret of success "Do What It Takes". Remember this the next time you set out to accomplish something.

19. Clinton expressed words of sincere apology to Kim Jong Il for the hostile acts committed by the two
Bill publicly kissed Kims ass ( he can die happy, his son will receive western aid and he will be taken off the "axis of evil list )and you mindless useful idiots wish to ignore the millions paid behind closed doors and passed on to Kim... with a little something skimmed off the top?

LIL

clueless much ?

You can pretend this was done for 'the good of the country but that isn't how it plays out.
and in time, down the road, the real deal will be explained that will be akin to trading arms for hostages.

"Clinton expressed words of sincere apology to Kim Kong Il for the hostile acts committed by the two American journalists against the DORK after illegally intruding into it," the news agency reported. "Clinton courteously conveyed to Kim Kong Il an earnest request of the U.S. government to leniently pardon them and send them back home from a humanitarian point of view.

17. I told my husband "Big Dawg" has the personality "Glorious Leader" desires-
The NK dictator loves his fantesy life filled with the "macho" celebrities who would admire and respect him, and Clinton can easily use his charm to advantage.

20. At least "Dear Leader" can die happy now that he brought the US to its knees...grabbing journalists
the inner circle has been given a reprieve and will be fed as a reward but the regular citizens will continue to 'honorably starve' to a happy brainwashed death.

just a small part of the bigger picture 'dear leader' lives in
