Business owner arrested for being in US illegally

An employer sanction investigation conducted by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has put a million dollar company in jeopardy.

Deputies conducted a search warrant on Aracruz International Granite in Phoenix Tuesday morning looking for the owner, and not necessarily the workers.

"We received information through our illegal immigration hotline that he was running this business that he was illegally here from Brazil," Sheriff Joe Arpaio said in a press conference.

This is the same Sheriff's department that raided a school's superintendent for providing her daughter a summer job, or the botched raid where they didn't find anything, burnt a house down, killed a dog in the process as well as damanging a neighbor's car. Or the harrasement of New Times editors over unflattering articles and even the harrasement of the democratic Phoenix mayor and the State's attorney general.
