911 call in deadly home invasion released (with audio)

The Pima County Sheriff's Department has released a recording of
the 911 in the fatal home invasion in Arivaca last week.

Accused ringleader Shawna Forde, Jason Eugene Bush and Arivaca resident
Albert Robert Gaxiola were arrested Friday in connection with the home
invasion in which Raul Flores, 29, and his daughter Brisenia, 9, were killed.

Forde, 41, who has lived primarily in Everett, Wash., was the executive director
of Minutemen American Defense, and she had named Bush the "operations director"
for the group's border-watch activities along the Arizona-Mexico border.

All three are being held at the Pima County jail.

That's a really nice lighting scheme, as far as mug shots go.

On a more serious note, I feel badly for the little girl (daddy, if he really was a cartel guy, not so much) and for the bands she worked with who are, no doubt, floored by all this.

and others thinking they should take the law into their own hands. Yet again the RW media will say that Homeland & Justice were wrong with their domestic terrorist alert.

6. Did anyone time that call - that seemed like a long time for them to
arrive. What is the area like? Rural?

7. Pima County...
...is very spread out, with a lot of ground for sheriff's deputies to cover. In addition, the major population center is the county seat, Tucson. Other than that, Pima County has a lot of CDPs and tiny little towns. It's not surprising to me that it took a while for emergency personnel to get to the scene there in Arivaca. Very sad, though, because they may have been able to save the victims if paramedics had been closer. Even so, they wouldn't have moved in until the deputies had secured the scene, since paramedics and EMTs aren't armed and would be sitting ducks if the murderers decided they didn't want emergency responders getting to their victims.

A sad situation all the way around. I hope they throw the book at the murderers. I'm not crazy about the almost total lack of border enforcement or the consequences illegal immigration has on the area, but there's no excuse for what these people did. Vigilantism is not justice.

15. Thank you all. It was so hard listening to her suffer. And the distance and
circumstances do explain the time.

14. Google Maps says 90 minutes from Tucson to Arivaca...
So yeah, I'd say it's pretty far out of the way.

12. Of course conservatives are roundly condemning her. Right?
Wrong. They're too busy trying to deny she was ever a right winger.

Right-wing nutjobs are out in force killing people regularly now. Almost makes me want to buy a gun.
