Sauerland-terrorists willing to confess (source in german only)
Source: tagesschau

Note: They are accused of planning autobombings at public spaces and at Rammstein US-military airport.

translation:
So far, the four accused in the "Sauerland"-process were unwilling to testify at all in court - now they suprisingly announced a confession.
...
"It will be a comprehensive confession. There will be surprises too."
...
Federal (prosecuting) attorney Volker Brinkmann emphasized, that the window for a milder verdict via a confession will soon be closed, as there is much evidence.
...
Quote: "I don't care how much they give me, whether 20 or 30 years, I just want all this to be over, it's boring." (Source: The accused terrorist Adem Y. on June 9th 2009, to why he wants to confess.)

The judicial process is so boring, that he would rather confess. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

1. Who are these guys? I've not heard of them.
Are they neo-nazi? Or Maoists? An outgrowth of the old Bader Meinhof gang?

2. No, muslim teenagers, members of the "Islamic Jihad Union"
They planned simultaneous bombings in german nightclubs and the likes to kill as many americans as possible. They wanted to influence Germany's commitment to the Afghanistan-mission. They were arrested by an antiterror police-unit before they could carry out their crimes.

For example, it is unknown to the prosecutors from where they got the detonators for their bombs.

3. They must not have gotten much coverage in the states - I wonder why.
Maybe the powers that be didn't like the comparison. These guys actually had detonators - here the home-grown terrorists all turn out to be sad sacks who couldn't organize a barbecue, much less a terrorist attack, and they never seem to get their hands on any real explosives. And all are turned in by FBI 'informers', who turn out to be the primary instigators of the plots.
