"The Rachel Maddow Show" Only Cable News Program Nominated For TV Critics' Award

MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" is the only cable news show nominated for the Television Critics' Association Awards. In the category "Outstanding Achievement in News & Information," Maddow's show is nominated along with CBS' "60 Minutes," HBO's "The Alzheimer's Project," and PBS' "Frontline" and "We Shall Remain."

The TCA awards will be presented August 1st at The Langham, Huntington Hotel and Spa in Pasadena, California.

It is so refreshing to have a cable host who isn't afraid to discuss and defend their ideology with guests from all parts of the political spectrum. She asks the hard questions, asks good follow ups, and is always respectful and fair. As a liberal, I enjoy the opinion part of her show as well, but I like that, unlike other hosts, she is not just about bringing on fellow choir members.

I've been telling everyone to listen to her since "Unfiltered" on Air America Radio. When she got her MSNBC gig suddenly all these same people were calling me "Have you seen this show on MSNBC????"

that being said - no way she will be on mtp any time soon. she is too liberal for the msm to chance on a major program. david gregory is bland but main stream. he doesn't ruffle any feathers. tim russert was also not one to excite the listeners to have to think about what had been presented. think that's the difference. when rachel speaks you have to actually think and reflect about the information. have to go look it up and digest. the powers that be don't like that.
