LONG BEACH -- There are reports that two light planes have collided in mid-air over the Long Beach harbor near the Queen Mary.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor says a pilot reported the collision around 5:45 this evening.
Firefighters and Coast Guard cutters immediately began searching the ocean about five miles south of the Queen Mary off the coast of Long Beach.
The pilot who reported the crash is trying to lead rescuers to the site.
