Centre-left wins Iceland election
Source: BBC News

Iceland's ruling centre-left government looks set to have won a major victory in the country's early elections.

Preliminary results show the coalition has won 35 of the 63 seats available, its first ever parliamentary majority.

Iceland has been one of the countries most dramatically affected by the global economic crisis.

The conservative Independence party, which resigned in January amid widespread protests over the economy, won 15 seats and has conceded defeat.

Well, nice - both for it happening and for the defeated party being rather more civilized about it than I've seen in Canada or the US lately.

1. Good country to keep an eye on.
I read this was the most right wing economy in the world. Now they're in the hole to the tune of over a quarter million bucks per person.
And they didn't wait around for elections. They threw the conservatives right out the door.

and gjot jjobs elsejhere in Eujrope. Icelanders have placed photos of these top dogs in their urinals, according to my friends in their capital (His an MD, she's a nurse)
What is funny is that women are going into the men's room to pee in the urinals.
