Mardi Gras massacre fears in Haiti as rebels close in on Port-au-Prince
Haitian opposition groups attacked a police station on the outskirts of the capital yesterday in what appeared to be the first sign of militants moving on Port-au-Prince after taking the country's second city.

The United Nations was reported last night to be ordering its staff to leave. America and France have also urged their citizens to do so as soon as possible.

The Red Cross gave a warning of an imminent breakdown in public services...
