Chavez to launch new state airline in Venezuela

CARACAS, Venezuela

President Hugo Chavez says his government plans to take over a Caracas-based airline and relaunch it as "social property."

Aeropostal Alas de Venezuela has been in state hands since late last year, when a raid on one of its owners uncovered 880 pounds (400 kilograms) of cocaine.

Chavez did not say Wednesday if he would nationalize the airline now or await the results of a drug trafficking case against Abdala, Alex and Basel Makled -- three brothers who own the carrier.

A conviction may let the government confiscate, rather than pay for, the airline.

1. Flying that plane, high on cocaine
Meanwhile our presidents tend to allow the CIA et alia to fly in what drugs they need to pay for covert operations.

3. So you oppose US laws that allow confiscating drug dealers' property?
Curious.

4. I'm also not so naive that cops can't plant evidence
to make a bust. Also, I've never heard of the police seizing a drug dealers front business and running it.

14. Usually they confiscate and then sell it for a profit which they
get to keep. They also use for other jobs.

Family's restaurant, other property may be seized after drug arrests

LAKE GEORGE — Warren County officials plan to look into whether a popular Route 9N restaurant can be seized after its owner was arrested over the weekend in connection with what police said was a massive marijuana growing operation.

State and federal seizure laws allow for the confiscation of real property if it was purchased with proceeds from drug activity, or in some cases if it can be shown that it was supported by drug-related income.

Police on Saturday night arrested Bruce E. Nelson, longtime chef/owner of Lone Bull Pancake & Steak House, as well as his son and his son’s half-brother. Warren County sheriff’s officers seized $41,000 in cash from a Flat Rock Road, Lake George home, along with two vehicles and a trailer, officials said.

In addition to the restaurant, police believe rental cabins in Lake George and a home owned by Nelson in Johnsburg where police said marijuana was being grown could also be targeted for seizure, officials said.

And also I doubt that they will then be run by Warren County afterwards.

10. Once again...
What happens once they are seized? If Warren County seizes this restaurant or diner then is it renamed The Warren County Diner and the county keeps the profits from every hamburger and french fry sold. And does the the wait staff become state employees?

15. We have laws up here similar to that regarding fishing and hunting.
.
.
.

If you are caught fishing or hunting without proper documentation, using illegal methods, etc.,

Not only can the Ministry of Natural Resources confiscate your catch/kill,

They can seize everything you used to accomplish the deed,

be it fishing equipment, guns, camper, vehicles - whatever -

even the freezer you stored the illegal catch/kill in . .

yeah

20 bucks worth of fish/game caught/harvested/stored illegally can cost you tens of thousands of dollars up here

I know dozens of people up here that still skirt the laws,

but ya only gotta get caught ONCE

and those "freebies" will bite you in the ass

big time . . .

some people are SOOOOOO stooopid!

He is not confiscating EVERYTHING. That's either a blatant lie or you heard it from someone who is extremely stupid.
