I do care, because my relatives are all Canadians. I want to know who is murdering the baby seals.

That would be pretty disgusting if it were the Canadians.

Thanks in advance!

5. Canada's commercial seal hunt is the largest slaughter of marine mammals
on the planet every year. Somewhere in the area of 300,000 seals are butchered and oftentimes skinned alive during this barbaric event (which, btw, starts in 10 days).

Sorry to bear bad news.

6. Good...
now maybe they can switch to the adult seals that actually eat more fish.

I'm a Canadian myself, so that's the excuse i here all the time ("they eat all the cod"). Males and non-pupping females only and subsidized bullets... but now to make a market for adult sealskin. That's why it's even happening here: there's money in it from the European fashion-houses and people need to supplement their incomes.

Baby seal-fur: soft and warm but unnesecarily cruel, wasteful and damn near useless in the region itself.

(Seeing as they eat the most fish of all.)

7. It's all about cuteness I suppose...
I don't like the seal hunt, but I find it slightly silly that this event is singled out when there are far more cruel and environmentally damaging practices going on every day. Factory farming, for example, seems more cruel to me than killing an animal in the wild. Have you seen how a chicken has to live its entire life in such a place?

Not defending the seal hunt (they're so cute!), just remember what Mama said: Don't talk with your mouth full of generic ground beef.

9. I think you are correct. If the animals pup looked
like a platypus, don't think you would hear nearly the uproar about hunting them. JMO. Easist way to end the hunts is to end the demand for the seals fur.

10. This is a win

Each win is part of the total picture of animal abuse.
