Russia's Medvedev Calls For Talks With Obama
Source: Associated Press

(11-15) 16:04 PST WASHINGTON, (AP) --

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is calling for talks with Barack Obama as soon as possible after the U.S. president-elect takes the oath of office.

Medvedev is reaching out to the incoming U.S. administration during his first visit to the United States since becoming Russia's president in May.

During an appearance Saturday night in Washington, Medvedev said there is a lack of trust between Russia and the United States and he hopes this will change when Obama becomes president.

2. True, but
Is the U.S. any better? Most countries have very low respect for us, and don't trust the current administration at all. Bush has done so much damage to this country, but has also done a lot of damage around the world in as far as how other countries trust us.

4. On the other hand....
US is so trustworthy, watch how the Polish politicians are rambling about ABM shield is a way to counter russkies. US has broken every promise written and spoken to Russia in the last 15 years, I can understand why Russia doesn't trust anything flying out of the White House.

3. Obama needs to keep one eye open at all times on Putin as he
"rears his ugly head" over Alaska airspace. Putin is a mad man that has a bigger ego than W and a Napoleonic complex. When he sees that svelte 6'4" black man he is gonna turn into a hobbit!
