Vandals strike Obama sign, (PA) union hall
Source: Evening Sun PA

Vandals over the weekend defaced a Barack Obama-Joe Biden billboard and a labor union building on Route 30 by spray-painting in red the word "commies" and a crude Soviet-style hammer-and-sickle symbol.

The United Food and Commercials Workers Local 1776, erected the sign Thursday on the local's property, 3161 Chambersburg Road, near Biglerville.

Union officials said passersby noticed the vandalism Sunday morning. In addition to vandalizing the billboard, vandals also spray-painted the union building with the word "commies" in red, apparently attempting to link both the Obama ticket and union to communism, union officials said.

"As unfortunate and ugly as this incident is, I'm not surprised that it happened given the mean-spirited rhetoric and hate-baiting language that the John McCain-Sarah Palin camp is using," Wendell W. Young IV, president of the 24,000 member Local 1776, said in a statement. "McCain, Palin and their media commercials repeatedly have questioned Barack Obama's loyalty to our nation. They have falsely accused him of associating with terrorists."

1. Vandals? More like chicken-shits who hate free speech
and who really need some book learning.

2. Minor stuff.
I actually wish they wouldn't give ink to stuff like this. It only encourages those who did it. It echoes and amplifies their message.

This is just paint.

3. Welcome to Central PA
Living out here, I'm not surprised by this. There is a lot of hate (and a LOT of McCain support) here. I know the polls all say how far ahead Obama is in PA but you wouldn't know it in South Central PA. Don't get complacent all you folks in the Burg or in the Philly suburbs! We're counting on you!

6. Meanwhile, Sarah Palin touts Todd's "good Union job"
Says it was their first good health care. The hypocrisy of that woman and her Party make me ill.

9. Good Plan, GOP!
There's no better way to get union voters in a massively-union state like PA to stay home -- or even win them over to the GOP -- on election day than to attack the candidate being backed by the unions. Great plan.

This just in: McCain's only hope is to win in PA...

D'oh!!!!!!!!!!
