US airstrike kills 3 in NW Pakistan -intelligence
Source: Reuters

MIRANSHAH, Pakistan, Oct 3 (Reuters) - A U.S. airstrike on a Pakistani village near the Afghan border on Friday killed at least three people, including two women and a child, according to Pakistani intelligence officials in the region.

The attack on Datta Khel, 60 km west of Miranshah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region, took place at around 5.30 a.m. (1130 GMT), the officials said.

North Waziristan is a known hotbed of Taliban and al Qaeda support, but Pakistan has protested over the surge in U.S. airstrikes on its tribal lands in the past month.

Aside from the three people killed, around half a dozen were wounded. (Reporting by Haji Mujatba; Editing by Jerry Norton)

2. Shhhhh......we aren't supposed to know about these incidents.
vp-elect "lipstick on a pig" indicated we aren't supposed to acknowledge these incidents. She put "shame" on Senator Obama for mentioning it, as it adversely "hurts the moral" of our troops in the fight against terror.

Never mind that it's NOT the troops on the ground that have anything to do with this. It's the brass that make the decisions to bomb across the border to have these sorts of "collateral damage" stories.

So, be good little Nazi's, and just turn your heads and let the indiscriminate killing go on. We haven't topped their slaughter yet, but we are getting closer with each passing day.

I'll just bet the child was going to grow up and carry a weapon one day anyway, right?

3. And when Pakistan defends herself and bombs US cities,
we'll all totally realize that Pakistan "has the right to defend herself". Right?

Afghans told to leave Bajaur

By Anwarullah Khan

KHAR, Oct 3: All Afghan nationals have been asked to leave Bajaur Agency within three days and at least 25 militants were killed in clashes with security forces on Thursday and Friday.

A notification issued by the political agent in Khar and announcements made from mosques warned the Afghans that they would face action if they did not leave the area within three days.

Local people were told to end business contracts with the Afghans and those who had rented out houses and shops to them were asked to evict them.

Officials said over 50,000 Afghans were living in Bajaur illegally and many of them had set up businesses. Refugee camps in the area were closed in 2005.

An official said the decision had been taken because of deteriorating law and order and complaints by local people about involvement of Afghans in militancy. “There are reports that Afghans are directly involved in militancy and they have joined militant groups.”

He said the government would take legal action against the Afghans and local people defying the order and the deadline would not be extended.
