McCain faults Obama, allies for partisanship
Source: AP

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Republican presidential candidate John McCain says Barack Obama and his allies have injected unnecessary partisanship into efforts to pass bailout legislation for the financial industry.

Talking to reporters in Iowa, McCain said, "Now is not the time to fix the blame, it's time to fix the problem."

McCain spoke a few hours after the House defeated bailout legislation. He called on lawmakers to get back to work immediately to address a crisis that he said could affect every family and small business.

1. smooth move: blame them, then say it's not time for blame.
insisting on support from both parties IS bipartisanship.

3. This is one of the lamest tactics McCain has used yet. It's obvious to his own base that he's in
ready, fire, aim mode and simply cannot get out.

4. Now entering: Ridiculous Land
If the Republicans gain any traction at all with this utterly absurd line of argument (and they're trying: I just heard two people on CNN and MSNBC try to blame Democrats...and they got called on their parroting GOP talking points, thank God), if they get any traction then that means that words and actions have lost all connection. Reason has ceased to exist. Up will be down and black will be white.

This is so stupid, on its face, that no responsible journalist would waste even a second before tearing these Republican losers to shreds. Too bad we're fresh out of responsible journalists.

5. He's really gonna try and go with a line that makes it look like Republicans were
willing to let the economy slide down the tubes in order to give Nancy Pelosi the finger?

8. Yeah, good luck with that!
The Pukes should be getting the blame for being in control of the government the last 8 years.

6. 9/11- Iraq - Patriot Act Dejj Vu
9/11 & Iraq: stand behind your president, don't ask questions, follow his lead, no time for partisanship. Then bend over and have it all shoved up your butt when they use it against you. Sooner or later elected democrats must show some backbone and stop allowing them to play these same games over and over again. Doing what is right for the country some times requires intestinal fortitude.

7. Barney Frank shoved that excuse up their collective arses.
I saw the press conferences of both parties. The Pukes came out first and blamed Nancy Pelosi for making a partisan speech on the floor toward the end of the debate (she did point out that the crisis was the result of years of Repuke anti-regulatory policies). They said her remarks made 12 Repukes (the exact number that flipped it to nay wins) change their minds. Reporters asked about this when the Dems came out, and Barney Frank said the Pukes were essentially saying they got their feelings hurt, so they hurt the country by their votes. The Pukes came out looking like a bunch of spoiled brats (wonder why) and the Dems looked reasonable.

12. Just a thought...
A majority of House Democrats supported the proposal and the majority of House Republicans opposed it. A total of 133 House Republicans voted against it, with 95 Democrats opposing the plan.

Sounds more like it was McCain's failure to convince his GOP "friends" to play along, eh?

17. Blame for partisanship - what a joke!
The behavior of the pugs at their convention was beyond outrageous. They are the kings of partisanship and act like spoiled brats. They are out of control and, hopefully, will soon be out of office!
