Motorcade Map Found at House Of Bomb Suspect
Edited on Wed Aug-06-08 12:48 PM by RamboLiberal
Source: Washington Post

Police found a map of Camp David marked with a presidential motorcade route inside the Bethesda home of the teenager at the center of a bombmaking probe, along with a document that appears to describe how to kill someone at a distance of 200 meters, a Montgomery County prosecutor said yesterday at a court hearing.

Collin McKenzie-Gude, 18, also had two forms of fake identification: one portraying him as a Central Intelligence Agency employee, and the other in the name of a federal contractor purportedly protected by the Geneva Conventions, authorities said.

The investigation has expanded to include officials from the CIA, FBI and Secret Service, prosecutors said. McKenzie-Gude, who is in the Montgomery County jail, faces charges that include weapons violations, possession of explosives and attempted carjacking. At the house last week, police found more than 50 pounds of chemicals, assault-style weapons and armor-piercing bullets.

The allegations revealed yesterday were the latest development in an expanding investigation that has engulfed the family of three that lives on a leafy street that a neighbor calls the "Leave It to Beaver" community.

-----

His father, Joseph Gude, 62, a retired Air Force captain who works for the Treasury Department, also was charged in the case, accused of buying guns for his son. McKenzie-Gude's mother, Debra McKenzie-Gude, holds a master's degree in social work.

After being described by his attorney as a model student on his way to American University, McKenzie-Gude’s bond was set at $750,000. That’s on charges of attempting to carjack and beating a 78-year-old man in a parking garage at White Flint Mall. He has a separate $115,000 bond on the earlier illegal guns and explosives possession charges.

Police found four assault rifles, two shotguns, one handgun and ammunition for the weapons, along with "chemicals and components commonly used to manufacture homemade explosives" at McKenzie-Gude's home, according to a Montgomery County police news release.

What happened

On July 21, McKenzie-Gude allegedly brought an assault rifle to the Gaithersburg home of the 17-year-old, according to the teen's aunt. On July 22, she attempted to report the incident to a civilian desk clerk at the county police's 1st District station in Rockville, where her nephew was an intern. She said the clerk did not take her seriously or allow her to speak with an officer.

"When I went to the police they said all kids are interested in guns," she told The Gazette last week. "That it's no big deal." The Gazette is not identifying the aunt to protect the identity of the 17-year-old who is charged as a juvenile.

On July 23, the aunt reached out to the Gaithersburg Police Department for help.

"She came into the station and said that her nephew told her that Collin had displayed an AK-47," said Gaithersburg Police Chief John King.

Police took a report and called McKenzie-Gude's father who said he owned an assault rifle but that his son would not remove it from the house, according to Sgt. Rudy Wagner, spokesman for Gaithersburg police. The report was forwarded to Montgomery County Police's firearms unit.

10. Some might call him a patriot
The founding fathers gave us impeachment as an alternative to bloody revolution.

But yes, he seems a bit twisted.

4. father buying this boy "many things," including guns and reports say there's "nothing dark" Really?
I'll just bet there will be reports that state otherwise. Also, parents who regularly give in to their kids' demands create sociopaths.

9. This is what I always wonder about...
"Police found four assault rifles, two shotguns, one handgun and ammunition for the weapons, along with "chemicals and components commonly used to manufacture homemade explosives"

why do these people need all these guns to carry out their master genius plan, when one will do?

23. Some men need many guns, some women need many shoes
There is no crime or wrong in Americans owning as many guns as they wish.

The "master genius plan" is your own manifestation.

11. Does a hyphenated last name count for the middle name?
Like Lee Harvey Oswald, James Earl Ray, Mark David Chapman, Sirhan Bishara Sirhan (Sirhan's middle name was used a lot at first, though it seems to have been dropped) etc.

And, how many copies of "Catcher in the Rye" does the kid own?

16. A comment or two on the WaPo article say that farmers have
stuff that could be used for making bombs. So the question is, was this a farming family? Is THAT why they had 50 lbs of this stuff at their home?

22. Yeah, that kid slept to the hum of The Beltway.
It being about 100 feet away from his house.

However, since the feds have no problem calling a bag of fertilizer and a can of diesel fuel "bombmaking materials," it's probably a little early to say the kid was actually making a bomb. Five ten-pound bags of batshit bought on sale at Lowe's would meet the definition.

24. Maybe they like to tinker with fireworks?
This is America right? The chemicals to make pretty stars, flashes, booms etc can
all be used for other means. This is not a reason to manufacture claims against them.

Different people have different hobbies. Innocent until proven guilty. Fuck facism.
